5 Star is equipped with the latest technology in navigation, communications, vessel
management and safety. Systems include Raymarine color 24 mile radar, speed, log, digital
depth sounders, hydraulic auto-helm and GPS chart plotter all linked to the helm and
Navigation Station.
Cellular telephone and data communications equipment are linked to 24 hour internet access
providing guests with piece of mind about current weather conditions and forecasts. Smoke
and CO2 alarms and fire suppression equipment is located throughout the vessel.
A complete inventory of Coast Guard certified emergency equipment includes a Spot satellite
messenger system, ACR EPIRB rescue-beacon system, a Wilmslow 6-person offshore life
raft and personal flotation devices in all sizes.
